Dr. Barbara Schell received
her M.D. with Highest Distinction from Indiana University
School of Medicine. She is Board Certified by the American
Board of Cosmetic Surgery, a specialty devoted completely
to cosmetic surgery. She is also Board Certified by the American
Board of Dermatology, a specialty devoted to the study of
the skin, its health, aging process and disorders.
As a noted expert in her field, Dr. Schell served as an
examiner for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and was
instrumental in developing both the oral and written components
of this credentialing examination. She is on the editorial
board for the Journal of Aesthetic Dermatology and Cosmetic
Surgery and the editorial review board of the American Journal
of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Schell has authored numerous scientific publications
on both cosmetic surgery and dermatologic topics, and co-authored
a textbook chapter on cosmetic and dermatologic surgery.
As an invited lecturer on cosmetic surgery and dermatology
in both the United States and Canada, Dr. Schell has spoken
at national and international meetings of the American Academy
of Cosmetic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatologic Surgery,
the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American College
of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
She is routinely featured on primetime newscasts for cosmetic
surgery and cosmetic dermatology topics.
On a more personal note, Dr. Schell enjoys gardening, sushi,
travel, hiking and fishing. Bob, Kitty (her cat), orangutans
and elephants are a few of her favorite things.
