IPL/Photorejuvenation
Intense pulsed light (IPL) or photorejuvenation is a highly effective, safe and easy way to refine aging and rosacea prone skin. Unwanted brown spots and visible fine red capillaries give the face an uneven, ruddy complexion signaling age and fatigue. Many studies have shown that clear translucent skin is perceived as being young and attractive.
Key Benefits:
- Removes red-brown discolorations
- Evens skin tone
- Minimal to no downtime
The Quantum IPL technology represents one of the greatest advances in the photorejuvenation of aging skin. The specific light energy is very effective in reducing both red blotches and brown pigment. The use of the longer wave lengths selected by your highly trained practitioner will also stimulate new collagen formation, diminishing fine lines and wrinkles and shrinking pore size so that the face becomes more luminous. This remarkable treatment can be done on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, back, and legs.
IPL is the most effective treatment known for rosacea. While topical and oral medications control rosacea, IPL actually treats the disorder by decreasing the number and the size of the faulty vessels causing the disease. So not only is the red bumpy appearance of the skin improved, but the disease improves as well.
We usually treat individuals with 4-5 treatments of IPL. If someone tends to have an active outdoor lifestyle, such as golfing, boating, gardening or biking, we will recommend that they have a maintenance treatment once year. We also suggest that individuals use SPF 60 sunblock, such as Ti-Silc as we feel that prevention and maintenance are equally important.
IPL is often used in combination with other treatments such as microdermabrasion, BOTOX
The Quantum IPL offers many advances in safety, such as a cooled tip and we further employ advanced unique protocols to enhance your safety and comfort. After treatment, you may experience slight redness that will usually resolve within two hours. Pigmented sun damage will initially darken and then fade before flaking off. Your skin, where treated, will feel smoother and fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade.
We always recommend a private consultation prior to this treatment to determine if this is the best treatment for your skin. Contact us for more information or to schedule your appointment.
